went to see thich nhat hanh today
at the beacon theater in nyc...
it was a 1/2 day mini retreat of mindfulness.
he started with talking about his connection
to martin luther king jr. and then began to
speak of "beloved community"...
he urged us to support obama
(Thay, as his friends call him was nominated
for a nobel peace prize by MLKjr...)
he asked us to be obama's beloved community
(or sangha, as the buddhists call it)
because there is no way that he can change the
world on his own.
